I’m Jo, the BusinessGenie!
Hi, I’m Jo — founder of The BusinessGenie, systems consultant, and your secret weapon when your business operations start to feel like they’re running you.
With over 20 years of experience in administration and management across local government, the NHS and policing, I’ve made a career out of transforming back-office chaos into calm, confident workflows. I’ve led teams, fixed systems, and — on more than one occasion — been invited back during a sabbatical to rescue admin teams that were struggling.
Those experiences confirmed what I already knew: I’m here to help people get organised, feel in control, and run better businesses.

I created The BusinessGenie because I wanted more freedom and flexibility in my own life. I live with chronic kidney disease, and while the future may involve dialysis or a transplant, right now I’m focused on making every day count — helping others build better systems, and building a business that aligns with my values: integrity, curiosity, and continuous learning.
